We are pleased to announce that the PROBA2 Science Working Team has selected 7 proposals for the 2013 Guest Investigator Program.
The PROBA2 Science Center received 17 proposals in response to the 4th (2013) PROBA2 Guest Investigator Call. The PROBA2-SWT committee welcomes the high level of the submitted proposals. Each proposal was evaluated by at least 5 referees of which at least two were external to the SWAP and LYRA PI teams. The committee observed the wide coherence between the opinions of these referees. On the basis of the received referee reports, a preliminary ranking was set up. During a meeting on 27 September 2013, the PROBA2-SWT committee re-discussed the merits of each proposal. Finally the preliminary pre-ranking was adopted without any changes. This resulted in the acceptance of the following proposals (in alphabetical order with provisional title):
D. Baker | Investigating the nature and extent of large-scale AR loop expansion off-limb. |
C. Bethge | Combining SWAP and CoMP to study coronal pseudostreamers and their influence on solar wind speeds. |
C. de Forest | Studying wave motion in the outer corona, as a tool for solar wind flow. |
C. Guennou | Performing tomographic reconstruction, in order to study the geometrical properties of coronal streamers. |
A. Kobelski | Studying AR-AR Reconnection after Flux Emergence. |
N. Nitta | Studying the dome-like structure of largescale coronal propagating fronts and their relation with shock waves. |
V. Zigman | Modelling flare induced ionization enhancements of the lower ionosphere with LYRA data. |
The visiting schedule will now be finalized and details will be presented here.
